Copenhagen-based Noma, named the World’s Best Restaurant for the past two years, will provide upmarket food for visitors to this summer’s London Olympic Games.

According to Bloomberg Business Week, Danish chef and Noma founder Rene Redzepi, will open a temporary showcase at world-renowned hotel Claridges from July 28 through Aug. 6 under the banner ‘ATaste of Noma’, serving a five-course menu, lunch and dinner for the ‘gold medal’ price of £195 (DKK1,700).

Claridge’s general manager Thomas Kochs said to the London Evening Standard: “This unique dining experience will be the first time the legendary chef will create his ground breaking vision outside Denmark. The arrival of René and his team marks a true milestone in Claridge’s culinary history, especially during such an exciting time in the capital.”  The main restaurant at Claridge’s is run by 'chef from hell' Gordon Ramsay.

Mr Redzepi, included in Time magazine’s list of ‘The 100 Most Influential People in the World’ earlier this month, said to Bloomberg it’s an exciting project and very opportune – Noma in Copenhagen is closed between the 20th of July and 15th of August for renovation.

Demand for the Olympic project is expected to be heavy - Noma receives as many as 100,000 reservation inquiries a month, over which time it serves a total of just 450 tables
