Græske banker og børsen lukker mandag

Greeks queued up in front of cash machines Sunday as officials were considering capital controls after the European Central Bank decided against raising the amount of emergency credit that it provides to the Mediterranean country's banks. The European Central Bank (ECB) announced it was maintaining its Emergency Liquidity Assistance (ELA) to the Greek financial system at the current level. The ECB is one of Greece's three international creditors, alongside the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the European Commission. With Greece on the brink of insolvency following inconclusive talks with its creditors, the ELA has been helping the Greek central bank provide liquidity to commercial banks.
